As we have mentioned, natural medicine holds that disease and death begin in the colon. Old, impacted waste material often reabsorbs into the body and nearby organs and sets the stage for diseases, viruses, parasites, and candida. The causes of constipation are varied and include stress, hypothyroidism, low-fiber diet, poor diet with too much sugar, fast foods, processed foods, allergy to dairy products, prescription drugs, and lack of exercise. If you are not having a bowel movement at least once a day, then technically you are constipated and your bowels are sluggish. Bowel transit time should be twelve hours.

Constipation is defined as infrequent and/or uncomfortable bowel movements.

Symptoms include irritability, headache, fatigue, nausea, flatulence, gas, body odor, bad breath, and poor skin tone.

Dietary considerations
Drink plenty of water, six to eight glasses daily. You should avoid high-fat, sugary, and fried foods along with dairy foods because they hamper your body’s efforts to rid itself of waste. Remember, your body loves fiber. I call fiber your body’s “little house cleaner.” It helps to sweep all of the toxins and wastes through your intestines in record time.
